Comment Policy

Shonen Beam aims to elevate the standard of conversation about shonen manga. Your participation in this conversation is always appreciated, but to keep this site a friendly environment for discussion, some guidelines are necessary.

By commenting on this site, you agree to abide by the following rules:

Stay positive. Disagreement with points made by an author, host, or fellow commentator is perfectly acceptable, and debate is encouraged, so long as the discussion is kept constructive and respectful. Relentless negativity is unacceptable. Remember that criticism of a series is not an indictment of its fans. Accept difference of opinion, argue the point fairly and tactfully, and move on.

No personal abuse. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. Any personal abuse of Shonen Beam hosts or authors, or fellow commentators will be deleted.

No discrimination. Swearing is fine, but all hurtful language such as racism, sexism, homophobia, and the like is prohibited.

No trolling. Comments exclusively written to provoke another person will be deleted.

Speak real English. Comments using “text-speak” or deliberately poor spelling or grammar will be deleted.

Keep links relevant. Comments should only link to other sites that support a point, and links should be kept to a minimum.

No spam. Comments must relate to the content of the post. Do not post gratuitous links to your website in your comment. There is an appropriate field to enter your website in the comment form.
