Do you have an interesting character for us to add to the list? Excellent! Please help us out by following a few simple guidelines.

- Since this is The Great Shonen Tier List, the character must be from a shonen series, which means the series must be published in a shonen magazine. Sites like Wikipedia, MangaUpdates, or MyAnimeList can help you determine if the series is shonen. If you are unsure, you're welcome to post and ask us, but we will deny any character from a non-shonen series.

- Make sure you are the first to introduce this new character. The Search function will help you.

- If the character you're introducing doesn't have a topic already, start a new topic with that character's name and their series as the topic title. (For example: "Killer B (Naruto)" or "Don Krieg – One Piece")

- Feel free to detail any of the character's abilities. We research all characters before putting them on the list, but you can help by pointing out what makes your character strong (or weak!) and/or interesting.

- The entire Great Shonen Tier List project is littered with spoilers, but just to be safe, if you must spoil something very important in the series relevant to the character you are introducing, please write a brief warning and use spoiler tags.

That's it! You're pretty much done. Here's the rest of the process:

- Once your topic has been created, the entire community is welcome to discuss the placement of your new character by replying to your topic. You are encouraged to be part of that discussion! However, try not to be defensive if people have a different opinion about how strong your character is. The Great Shonen Tier List is about relative strength, not series quality, so no one is attacking your tastes. (If they are, they're in violation of the rules.)

- For your character to be added to the list, the administrators of the tier list must have read that character's series. Since we have the final word on character placement, it is important that we have an informed opinion regarding your new character, beyond the information you give us in your topic. However, even if you somehow know we haven't read a series, don't let that stop you from introducing a character from it! Make us read more.

At this point, if you've introduced an interesting character, and if the admins are familiar with the series, then chances are we'll add your character to the list! How terribly exciting.

One last thing: Please don't introduce too many new characters too quickly. There isn't a specific number of topics you are allowed to create, but be reasonable. We only add a limited amount of characters to the list every week, we try to provide a good variety of series and strength levels, and we want to take suggestions from as many people as possible, so spamming the forums with 10 new characters on your first day isn't going to help your cause.
